Door Tablet Server Options
Door Tablet runs on a number of servers, each offering different advantages. It is possible to migrate from one server type to another. The servers fall into two main categories:
- Shared, cloud based. This server type is called Door Tablet CONNECT
- Owned, either on premise or on private cloud

1. Door Tablet CONNECT
Door Tablet CONNECT is a cloud-based, multi-tenant solution that resides on AWS infrastructure. With this option, you do not need to have your own server or set up and maintain one - we handle all of that for you. Launching a new instance takes less than a minute once it's approved, so you can get up and running quickly without the hassle of managing your own server infrastructure.

2. On-premise
Run this server on your own PC or on a VM, a virtual machine. This architecture requires the organisation to have its own Door Tablet server, which can be on a dedicated machine or a virtual machine. This is suitable for organisations that want everything on-site and have high security requirements.
3. On-Cloud
This architecture requires the organisation to have its own Door Tablet server, but it runs on a cloud-based VM. The endpoints communicate with the cloud-based server, which in turn communicates with the scheduling platform.
